Coaching the G.I.S.T. is a human-centered coaching practice based in Hutto, Texas. We pair reflective human coaching with a private learning lab — so the work of change continues between sessions, not just during them.
Eric Jackson — Founder and Coach
Eric is an Organizational Development Specialist and certified Coach with a Master degree in Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. His career has been built around people, teams, and technology — with over two decades of experience in information technology and consulting before establishing Coaching the G.I.S.T. His interests revolve around people strategy, analytics, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and team effectiveness.
From the Marine Corps to Coaching
During his service in the Marine Corps as a Tactical Switching Operator, Eric developed foundational skills in wire telecommunications. That experience paved the way for an extensive career in emerging market telecommunications consulting. As a military veteran, he understands the language of transition — and he brings that understanding to every coaching relationship.

The Practice
Coaching the G.I.S.T. is built on a simple idea: Gift of Intuitive Self-Talk — practiced, not performed.
The game of chess is central to how we think about coaching. A good plan is essential for decisive action, as well as countermeasures if things go awry. A good plan can rescue you from a bad situation while keeping you focused and organized. That is why we approach coaching as studying the game between moves — not playing the game for you.
What Makes Us Different
Generic coaching sites offer homework and accountability check-ins. We offer something more: a private G.I.S.T. Lab — a living digital environment where you review session themes, track perspective over time, and run small experiments between meetings.
