What Is the G.I.S.T.?
G.I.S.T. stands for Gift of Intuitive Self-Talk — the practice of tuning into the inner conversation that shapes every decision, every relationship, and every move you make.
It is not a framework you install. It is a capacity you develop: the ability to hear your own thinking clearly, challenge what no longer serves you, and choose your next move with intention.
The Premise
Your thinking does not stop between sessions. The voice that narrates your day — the one that says “I should” or “I can’t” or “maybe later” — is always running. Most coaching addresses that voice only during scheduled meetings. The G.I.S.T. approach addresses it where it actually lives: in the space between moves.
The Chess Metaphor
A good plan is essential for decisive action, as well as countermeasures if things go awry. A good plan can rescue you from a bad situation while keeping you focused and organized. That is why we approach coaching as studying the game between moves — not playing the game for you.
Every coaching session is like studying a position on the board. What are the threats? What are the opportunities? What is the plan? But the game continues after the session ends — and that is where the G.I.S.T. Lab comes in.
The Three Layers
- The coaching relationship — Eric holds judgment, ethics, and the human connection. This is where insight is born and decisions are made.
- The G.I.S.T. Lab — a private learning lab where you review session themes, track perspective over time, and run small experiments between meetings. This is where insight becomes practice.
- The operations layer — gentle check-ins, prompts, and continuity tools that hold the thread between sessions. This is where practice becomes pattern.
What It Looks Like in Practice
- Perspective Hygiene — a morning briefing that helps you interpret information, not just consume it.
- Idea Genesis — turning raw ideas into structured plans before they evaporate.
- Systems Thinking — seeing the patterns, constraints, and flows in your own life.
- Life Strategy Board — your goals, reflections, and strategic prompts on one board.
- Aisha — Digital Ally — a culturally grounded companion for between-session reflection.
Why It Matters
Generic coaching sites offer homework and accountability check-ins. We offer something more: a living environment where the work of change continues between sessions — scaffolded by tools, held by a human relationship, and grounded in your own intuition.
Nothing replaces the human work of change. It scaffolds it.
